Statement from the Motor Cycle Union of Ireland

A constructive meeting took place this morning in Dundalk, Co., Louth, between the Southern Centre and Ulster Centre of the Motor Cycle Union of Ireland and Mr. John Treacy (Chief Executive, Irish Sports Council) and Mr. Eamonn McCartan (Chief Executive of the Northern Ireland Sports Council).

At the meeting, a new Road Race Task Force, to review all aspects of motorcycling road racing in Ireland, was agreed.

Road Racing will continue into the foreseeable future.

Both Sports Councils have agreed to facilitate the review.
