MANX GRAND PRIX 2000

The first Manx Grand Prix of the new Millennium, was one of the most exciting meetings held over the Mountain Circuit in years. Mainly perfect conditions throughout the fortnight mixed with close racing and the emergence of some new talented Road Racers, helped make the meeting one to remember.

Newcomers Seamus Greene, Mick Skene, Martin Finnegan, Davy Morgan, Paul Corrin and Chris Dowling, showed that they have true talent, and if they can continue to learn the circuit at the speed they showed, could be TT winners in the future.

Ryan Farqhaur in his second year as a Manx Grand Prix competitor, showed that he may not be far away from TT success, with a comfortable victory in the Senior Manx Grand Prix. Keith Townsend has been coming to the Manx Grand Prix for quite a bit longer than Ryan, but he also claimed his first victory, with a well calculated performance in the Junior.

Other riders that deserve a mention, include winners Pete Turnbull, Glen English, Barry Wood, Jason Griffiths and Brian Kneale, Alistar Howarth, Nigel Beattie, Paul Ducket, Tynan Pritchard, Dan Stewart and Ian Pattinson amongst others, who all rode brilliantly throughout the fortnight.
